Ellen is an illustrator and artist based in New Jersey.  She has always been interested in how art relates to all aspects of life.  Through a whimsical approach with a surreal bent, Ellen hopes to make connections between images and feelings.  Her art often reflects her varied and eclectic interests especially history and music.

She loves to travel and finds joy in experiencing the simple and the unusual.  Often the smallest observation will inspire her to create through painting with traditional and digital media. Sometimes her inspiration is her dog. 

Ellen McCarthy is a graduate of Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design with a Fine Arts Degree in Illustration. While art has always been a driving influence in her life, her focus was diverted by working with numbers and being a mother.  Being an artist is a dream come true.
